How to split CMYK raster colors in CorelDraw
Split 4 (four) CMYK Colors with Coreldraw Manual screen printing is an important part of the screen printing process. Wrong in the color splitting process causes screen printing results that are not optimal, namely colors that miss or create shadows that we don't want.
Therefore, it is necessary to observe the following steps,
First you have to have a large resolution image, you can download it on DeviantArt, you can download free or paid images.
Now open Coreldraw, change the paper size to A3
File > Import and select the image that was downloaded from Deviantart earlier
Select the Rectangle Tool (F6), create 4 squares (serves as a benchmark during the screen printing process)
Select the image and press the P key on the keyboard, so that the position is in the middle.
Change the image type to CMYK by
Select Bitmaps > Mode > CMYK Color (32-bit)
OK, now we're going to start separating the colors and converting them to rasters.
-Cyan Color
1. Change/take a picture only the Cyan color
Choose Effects > Adjust > Tone Curve
Change Channel to Magenta channel
Set the Y : curve to 0, while X : leave it alone
Click Preview
Change Channel to Yellow channel
Set the Y : curve to 0, while X : leave it alone
Click Preview
Change Channel to Black channel
Set the Y : curve to 0, while X : leave it alone
Click Preview
Click OK
We've got the color cyan.
2. Now we will change the cyan color earlier to black and white (grayscale)
Select Bitmaps > Convert to bitmap
Then a convert to bitmap box will appear
Set the Resolution according to your needs (we only use 200dpi)
Change Color mode to Grayscale (8-bit)
Tick Transparent Background
OK
Cyan has changed to black and white.
3. Change the grayscale earlier to raster
Select Bitmaps > Color Transform > Halftone
Then a halftone box will appear
In the halftone box, only black will appear, then set the dot tilt to 45 degrees, at Max dot Radius to set the radius point size, fill in 3.
OK
If you zoom in, you will see the raster dots.
Now save the file, select File > Export with the name Cyan
Or more clearly, see >>> How to save files in Coreldraw
Done, for cyan
After Cyan has been saved
Click Undo (Ctrl + Z) 3 times (to restore the raster, grayscale and cyan images to their original state)
For the next colors Magenta, Yellow and Black, you just follow the Cyan steps above.
The difference is only in step 1,
-Magenta color
If you want to take the color Magenta, it means cyan, yellow and black, the Y is changed to 0.
-Yellow color
If you want to take the color Yellow, it means cyan, magenta and black, the Y is changed to 0.
-Color Black
If you want to take the color Black, it means cyan, magenta and yellow, the Y is changed to 0.
